How old should my child be in order to attend? Minimum age is 7 years old and there is no maximum.
What should my child bring to the class? Bring a plastic empty container to bring samples home and to cut down on single use plastic.
Do they need a lunch? All ingredients & drinks are provided. We strongly advise not to bring a lunch so children are encouraged to have a healthy appetite for the lunch they have prepared in class.
How do I secure a place? The link to the reservation form and payment process is above the Frequently Asked Questions title.
Does my child need to have any cooking experience? No.
What about clothes? We will supply a clean apron every day. We advise a hair band or bobbin for all long hair, comfortable clothing and no flip-flops or sandals.
My child has learning difficulties, will they be able to enjoy this class? The class is run inclusively to enable all children to enjoy the class as fully as possible. The more information on any difficulties you can share in advance will make it easier for us to help your child to enjoy the class.
My child is allergic to gluten/nuts/dairy/fish/eggs etc, can they participate? we will amend the ingredients where possible to cater for an allergy, having regard to the safety of the child which is paramount. It is vital for parents to inform us in advance of any such risks so that we are able to assess what steps we can take.
My child only eats halal/kosher? Advance information is most important. Where possible, some ingredients can be changed, if not, it may be necessary for parents/guardians to provide particular dietary requirements.
Do they get recipes? Every child will get a folder with all the recipes to bring home.
What if my son/daughter doesn't like all the ingredients in a recipe, will they be made eat them? In our savoury recipes, all ingredients are displayed and we encourage children to choose as many as possible. For some young chefs they will take all of them and for others they will be more comfortable with perhaps just a couple. Generally by the end of the week, students have become more creative & adventurous and begin to take more.
